Kept back for ourselves.

For as long as anyone remembers, Chamundi Distillery has quietly bottled whisky on behalf of others. Twenty‑One Plus is the one we kept back — a gentle, golden blend, built slowly and bottled only when it asks to be.

N° 03The Tasting

Read it slowly.

Neat, or a teaspoon of water
I
On the nose
Cereal, malt, fruit.

Rich earthy cereal carries the first breath. Beneath, a soft malted weight. At the top, orchard fruit. Lean in.

  • Toasted barley
  • Honeyed malt
  • Stewed pear
II
On the palate
Sweet, gentle, eager.

It arrives sweet and unfussy. The middle firms slightly — a quiet centre — before easing back. Never to be wrestled.

  • Light caramel
  • Cereal warmth
  • Soft, rounded
III
The finish
Fruit, then the oak.

Medium length. The fruit returns first, sweeter now. Then the oak walks in late, dries the corners, and asks for another.

  • Dried apricot
  • Vanilla oak
  • Dry, lingering
N° 04The Ritual

Four motions, in order.

/01
A heavy glass
Tumbler or Glencairn — the shape funnels the cereal up
/02
Two fingers
Tilt the glass · watch the legs settle on the wall
/03
A teaspoon of water
Freshly drawn — this opens the malt, not a compromise
/04
A minute
Set it down · the whisky does the rest
N° 05The Distillery

Hoskote. Bengaluru rural.

A quiet plot a half‑hour east of the city, where two copper pots breathe slowly under a tin roof. The malt rests in oak. The grain is hand‑picked. Nothing is hurried.
